All building insurance policies are managed from the Insurance page. Strata Managers can view, search, filter, and manage insurance policies across all buildings, as well as identify policies that require attention using special markers and status indicators.

Search Bar
Use the Search bar to quickly locate an insurance policy.
Search using information such as:
- Plan Number
- Policy Number
- Insurer
- Broker
Multiple filters can be applied to refine search results.
Add Insurance
To add a new insurance policy:
- Navigate to Buildings > Insurances.
- Click + Insurance.
The Add Insurance Policy window opens.
You can upload the insurance policy by either:
- Dragging and dropping the file into the upload area, or
- Clicking Browse file to select a file from your computer.
Review and complete the required information, including:
- Plan Number
- Policy Type/s
- List of Policy types based on Strata Master
- Start Date
- Expiry Date
- Policy Number
- Last Premium (optional)
- Insurer
- Based on the creditor list from Strata Master
- Broker (optional)
Click Next to continue, then review and save the policy.
After entering the policy details, click Next to add one or more insurance coverages.
For each coverage, complete the following fields:
- Coverage Type – Select the type of insurance coverage.
- Sum Insured – Enter the insured amount.
- Excess – Enter the applicable excess amount.
- Notes (Optional) – Add any relevant notes.
To add additional coverages:
- Click + Coverage.
- Complete the required details for the new coverage.
- Repeat as required.
Once all coverages have been added, click Save.
Note: The Insurance details uploaded here should match the Insurance details from the Insurance List on Strata Master. Insurance details are synchronised with Strata Master. Existing insurance information is imported into the portal, and any changes made in the portal are synchronised back to Strata Master through two-way synchronisation.
Special Markers
Special Markers help identify policies that require attention.
Available markers include:
Expiring Soon
Policies expiring within the next 90 days.
The system automatically generates notifications for insurance renewal events.
Notifications include:
- Policy Expiring Soon – Sent 90 days before a policy expires.
- Policy Expired – Sent when a policy has expired.
Missing Document
Imported policies without an attached policy document.
Policies imported from Strata Master do not include attached documents. Strata Managers can attach a policy document by clicking the Link Document button on the insurance preview page.
Select an existing document from the Portal or by uploading a new document.
Sum Insured Less Than Valuation
Indicates the insured amount is lower than the building valuation.
Policies flagged with Sum Insured Less Than Valuation can be filtered using the Special Marker filter on the left-hand panel. This flags alerts managers when building coverage is potentially insufficient compared to the property's valuation.
Favourites
Displays policies marked as favourites for quick access.
Filters
Policies are categorised by their current status:
- Active – The policy is currently in effect.
- Expired – The policy has passed its expiry date.
Use the Status filter to display only Active or Expired policies.
Additionally, users can filter the page by Plan Number, Policy Type, Insurer, Broker, and Renewal Date.
View Insurance Policies
The Insurance page displays all insurance policies in a list view.
Each policy includes key information such as:
- Plan Number
- Insurer
- Policy Number
- Broker
- Renewal Date
- Status
Click anywhere on a policy row to view its details.
Bulk Export
Strata Managers can export multiple documents at once using Bulk Action.
To perform a bulk action, select the checkboxes next to the relevant documents and click Export.
Insurance Preview Page
The Insurance Preview page provides a complete view of an insurance policy, including building information, valuation details, policy information, coverage, linked documents, and activity history.
Select an insurance policy from the Insurance page or the Building Profile to open the Insurance Preview page.
The top of the page displays key policy information, including:
- Policy name
- Policy status (Active or Expired)
- Policy indicators, such as:
- Sum Insured Less Than Valuation
- Missing Document
- Quick actions, including Message and the More menu.
If additional active policies exist for the same building, a banner is displayed with a View Policies link.
Building Details
The Building Details section displays information about the associated building, including:
- Building name and address
- Building manager
- Number of lots
Valuation Details
The Valuation Details section displays the building's valuation information, including:
- Last valuation date
- Valuation due date
- Valuation amount
- Valuer
These details are managed separately from the insurance policy and are synchronised with Strata Master.
Insurance Details
The Insurance Details section displays policy-specific information, including:
- Insurance type
- Insurance premiun
- Insurer
- Policy period
- Broker
Coverage
The Coverage section provides a breakdown of the policy coverage, including:
- Coverage type
- Sum insured
- Excess
- Notes
History
The History section records activity related to the insurance policy.
Tasks
Shows task associated to the policies, this also allows users to create and manage tasks related to an insurance policy.
Note: The Edit button is displayed only for insurance policies created in the portal and is not available for policies imported from Strata Master
Notes
The Notes tab allows users to record information related to an insurance policy.
