Organisation-Specific Compliance Exemption allows organisations with Premium Compliance to mark selected providers as exempt from compliance requirements. This helps accommodate providers who do not require a full compliance profile, or who are completing specific low-risk work, while allowing jobs and invoices to progress without invalid compliance warnings.

When to Use Compliance Exemption
A compliance exemption may be used when an organisation determines that a provider does not need to meet standard compliance requirements.
Examples may include:
- Utility providers, such as Sydney Water
- Providers completing occasional low-risk work
- Local labourers completing specific jobs where a full Smarter profile is not required
How Compliance Exemption Works
Compliance exemptions apply to one organisation only. A provider may be exempt for one organisation and remain non-compliant for another.
Once exempt, a provider can:
- Be assigned jobs
- Have invoices processed
- Progress without invalid compliance warnings for that organisation
The exemption does not approve missing compliance documents or change the provider’s compliance status across the portal.
Mark Provider as Exempt
A team member with the required access can mark a provider as exempt from the provider’s profile.
Step 1: Open the provider’s profile.
Step 2: Select the three-dot menu on the provider profile.
Step 3: Select the option to mark the provider as exempt.
Step 4: Confirm the exemption.
Once confirmed, the provider will be treated as compliance exempt for that organisation.
If standard compliance requirements are needed later, the exemption can be removed from the provider profile using the three-dot menu.
Provider View
Providers are not notified when they are marked as exempt.
If required compliance documents have not been submitted, the provider will still see themselves as non-compliant. This is expected, as the exemption is an internal organisation setting only.
