While working on a Job, Building Managers need to be able to contact Service Providers.
This can be for a variety of reasons like:
- Reminding them to update the Portal
- Informing them of a message from the Site Contact or Committee
- Discussing specific updates and information for a Job
With Messages, Building Managers can send updates, inquiries and additional information to the Service Provider and follow up on a Job's progress.
Building Managers can check the Notifications Icon located on the toolbar to see whether there's a new conversation or message from Service Providers.

Send a Message
1. Go to the Jobs page (Wrench Icon )
2. Select the Job
3. On the Work Summary page, click the Messages Icon to the left of the Contractor's name
Note: If there's a new Message from the Service Provider, the Message Icon will be red
4. Enter a Message
5. Attach files by clicking the Paperclip Icon
6. Click 'Send'
When the message has been sent, the Service Provider will receive a notification and should read and reply to it promptly.
View and Reply to New Messages
When a Service Provider has sent a message, the Building Manager will be alerted and can respond in a few ways. The messaging feature only connects Building Managers to Service Providers and their employees. Updates are not sent to the Committee.
Since each messaging thread is unique to the Work or Quote Request, there may be multiple conversations with the same Service Provider for different Jobs.
Email
Look for a notification email with the new message and reply directly to it by entering a response. The reply will also appear under Messages in the Portal.
In-app Notifications
Check to see if there's a green dot in the right corner of the Messages Icon. Click the icon to view a list of new messages.
To view all new notifications, look for a green dot in the right corner of the bell-shaped Notifications Icon. Click the icon to view a list of new alerts and messages. Select 'New message received' from the list to go to the chat room for the Job.
Another way to see if there's a new message is by checking for a red bubble next to the name of the Service Provider on the Work Summary page of a Job.
Dashboard
Click the Dashboard Icon on the toolbar to view new messages on the Dashboard. Look for the green 'New Messages' box then click 'View' to view the list of Jobs with new messages on the Jobs page.
Hot Filters
Select the bright green filter on the Jobs page to view all Jobs with new messages.
