Occasionally certain jobs will require a contractor to request a deposit before the work starts, or progress payments. A contractor can request these conditions through their quotes on SMATA.
How to Request a Deposit
1. Log in to SMATA
2. Go to the Jobs Page (Wrench Icon)
3. Click on the relevant job
4. Click on "Attach Quote"
5. Add the final price of the work (including GST)
6. Click on 'Would you like to request a pre-payment, initial deposit or progress payments?'
7. Add in either the deposit amount or the percentage of the final price (the field you don't fill in will automatically update)
8. Add in the Estimated Start Date and Estimated Duration and the Quote pdf (Photos and Videos are optional)
9. Click Save
How to Request Progress Payments
1. Log in to SMATA
2. Go to the jobs page (Wrench Icon)
3. Click on the relevant job
4. Click on "Attach Quote"
5. Add the final price of the work (including GST)
6. Click on 'Would you like to request a pre-payment, initial deposit or progress payments?'
7. Under 'Progress Payments (If Any)', click 'Add progress payment'
8. Enter the amount for that progress payment and the due date.
9. Press the 'Add progress payment' button again and repeat the process until the full price of the quote is accounted for in the payments.
10. Add in the Estimated Start Date and Estimated Duration, (Photos and Videos are optional), and add either the Quote PDF or a URL link to the quote
11. Click Save
Once this has been saved, the Strata Manager will be sent the quote including any deposit and/or progress payment requirements. If the quote is approved, a contractor can make these multiple invoices as per their requirements.
